1. What types of care are available at The Cedar Gardens?
Both assisted living and skilled nursing care are available at all of our residential group home properties. We also offer Alzheimer support for loved ones with special needs.

2. How does the admissions process work? What do I do if I am interested in placement?
Once you have chosen to apply for admission, we ask you to complete the paperwork necessary for nursing and financial assessments. Once approved, there may be some additional paperwork to complete prior to actual admission. The process may take anywhere from one day to a week, depending on the availability of caregivers and family members.

3. Do you have a staff physician or may we continue to use our current physician?
A resident admitted to any of our resident group homes is welcome to continue with their current primary physician. If that physician is unable to follow the resident, staff physicians are available.

4. What activities are offered to residents?
Residents in all of our residential care homes are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities. These include physical games and exercises; games and puzzles such as crosswords, word association, and bingo; current events; and discussion groups, just to name a few.
Field trips are regularly scheduled by all of our
residential group homes, and your loved one is transported
in our specially equipped buses to restaurants for lunch, shopping or to community events.

6. What is included in the daily rates for skilled nursing and assisted living facilities?
Daily rates at our assisted living group homes include: room; meals; personal care services (ADLs); laundry and housekeeping services; assistance with access to health care, social services, and social activities; and administration of medications.

7. Does Medicare, Medicaid or insurance pay for any of the costs?
Assisted living services must be paid for privately, unless you have private insurance that covers part or all of your assisted living stay.

8. When are visitors welcome? May residents be taken out of the facilities for periods of time?
Visitors may stop by any time. If the doors are secured, simply ring the door bell – just like at home. Visitors and residents may come and go as they please (when medically appropriate) and families are welcome to take residents out of the facilities for special events.
